Tuesday, May 8, 2018 - "...what have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord..." Mosiah 18:10

Super good week!!

We lined someone up for baptism on May 26th this year!! We are super excited. He is 9 years old and his mom got baptized about 2-3 years ago but for some reason they didn't baptize him at 8, so we get the opportunity to baptize him. Our first lesson with him went super well. We thought he had autism because he was SUPER shy, like, his mom even had to tell us what him name is and how old he is. But, by the end of the lesson he really opened up to us and it was great. We are super excited to be able to see him be baptized.

So, we were walking around one day, can't remember what day it was, and we heard these people yelling down this one street but we couldn't see them. And then, all of a sudden, bullets. EVERYWHERE. We walked right in the middle of a war. There were tons of casualties. I mean the trees, the cars, the dog. Bullets were flying. It was one of the craziest things we've ever seen. One person even had a sword, she seemed like the boss lady. About 20 kids, under 12 years old, had the best Nerf war I think I've ever seen. It was funny.

Elder Blount and I did service yesterday for 4 HOURS. It was ridiculous. I thought it would only be about an hour...so I didn't wear any sunscreen...and I got sunburned. It isn't too bad, just on the backs of my knees and on the back of my neck.

Anyways, to finish. We went to the temple today! It was super awesome and, as always, a good experience.

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
