Monday, June 4, 2018 - "Are you guys the missionaries?"

This week was pretty average. We are teaching a new person! Her name is Gabriela, and her aunt is in the lessons too. Her other aunt is a very active member of our ward, and we knew that she had family here that weren't members so we decided to pay them a visit. What we didn't expect was the member to be there!! haha so we went in and the member said "Oh perfect! You guys can start on the lessons right now!" And we were all, "Okay! For sure." So we taught her the first lesson and invited her to come to church. We didn't think she would come. But she did!! It was super awesome. We also taught her the second lesson already Sunday night.

Also, something that was pretty funny. We were leaving an apartment complex to go eat dinner and there were a few Mexicans in a car. I don't think they knew that we speak Spanish because on of them saw us and said, "Güeros!". Then, another one of them said in Spanish, "Hey don't say that! They might speak Spanish" and he replied "Nah, they don't speak Spanish, they're white." It took a whole lot of willpower not to laugh. And then I realized something, and Elder Blount told me that I should have started talking to them and teaching them in Spanish.

Anyways, love y'all!! Have an awesome week!!

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
