It has been going super well here! Elder Martinez are getting along and not killing each other, which is a good thing. Lol just kidding we get along super well.

And that sounds good! It still would have been fun with Brandon and Colin and Derek and Mikelle if they came but it would have been a lot of people haha.

Just a little something I learned during my studies one day this week. I was read out of Mosiah 1 and came across verse 7. Now, Hank Smith uses this scripture in a talk entitled "Scripture Power" and he says to be able to learn, or "profit" from the scriptures, we first need to search them, diligently. And then for some reason, as I was reading later on in the chapter I remembered something else from a different talk entitled "Righteous Warriors" by John Bytheway. He talks about how the brethren have told us that we need to liken the scriptures to our day, and asked "Well then why are there all those war chapters in the book?" And he goes on to say all the past wars involving JUST the United States; Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican War, Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War. 10 wars, not including the one we are in currently. So what should the Book of Mormon talk about then? Peace? That would be weird considering we are in a time of "wars and rumors of wars". And then I tied that in to 2 Nephi 2:11 where there is opposition in all things and thought why was it our planet that needed the Savior? Because we also have Satan, more temptation. And also how it is interesting that the place with the most opposition against the Church is also the place where the Church is the most populated, and also the headquarters for the Church, here in Salt Lake City. I just thought that was interesting.

We are teaching quite a few people right now. A lot of them are going to progress towards baptism. The most ready got here from Colombia several weeks ago and are related to members (that's how ALL our baptisms work, member referrals lol or just referrals in general). Well they met with missionaries before in Colombia and nothing really happened. And they have been coming to church for the past few weeks without us knowing. They finally reached out to the member and said they are ready and willing to meet with the missionaries again! Well, we met them Sunday (a mom and a daughter) and they told us that we need to start coming over to their house so we can start teaching them! They are super solid. We are planning for them to be baptized on the 18th.

Anyways, there's more, but I'll do one different person each week.

Love y'all! Have a great week!

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
