Monday, January 29, 2018 - Baptism!!

Well, my companion is Elder Carrero! He is from Puerto Rico, and yes his family is fine, one of the more fortunate families down there. He has been out for a year now, and well, his brother a mission i the same exact mission as this one!! His brother actually finished in the same area where he just came from, which is also the area which I came from to this area, Murray! It was cool to talk about the area and how it was going and everything.

We had Stake Conference this past weekend, which was a lot of fun. We got to give a 5-7 minute testimony during the general session for everyone. Conference started with the adult session on Saturday right after our baptism.

That baptism was SUPER special. I don't know if I mentioned it in my last email, but Azure messaged me on Facebook asking if she was still able to give a small speech after her baptism!! WOW!! That was super special. I immediately said yes that would be awesome!! And she gave one of the sweetest testimonies I have heard. She basically just went through her story on how she came here and the church reached out to her in a huge time of need. It was very special.

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
