How is it going y'all?!

Super awesome week this week!! So, first off, we have someone lining up for baptism on April 7th!! We are super excited. We put him on date during exchanges. The kid is 12 years old and came to church for the first time yesterday and loved it! During the lesson, I was talking with the parents and the companion I was with (Elder Jones from North Carolina, he doesn't speak Spanish (it was a Hispanic family) but he does speak Portuguese so he was able to do just fine). Anyways, as I was talking, I hear him ask out of the blue "So do you wanna get baptized on April 7th?" I looked over like "Huh? What happened?" And then the kid looked at his mom and said "Hey Mom I'm getting baptized on April 7th." It was super cool, and he is super stoked now.

On Friday we had a super good lesson with someone we used to teach. Our zone leaders even joined in the lesson through Skype. We had tried putting him on date for baptism so many times prior, even our Mission President did once, because we thought he was super ready!! Anyways, we were going to try and do it again on Friday. We were talking for about an hour and 15 minutes about baptism and all the many blessing that come from it. And then we figured out why he hasn't been baptized. He hasn't received a true testimony about the Book of Mormon. He reads it everyday, and not only that but marks passages that he likes and things like that. But he hasn't prayed to know if it is true. If you receive that witness, which Moroni promises that we WILL receive so long as we ask truly wanting to know (Moroni 10:4-5), then everything else fits into place. You know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that we have prophets on the earth today leading and guiding us. You know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and that because of him, all of us can live with our Father in Heaven again. You know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints IS Christ's church here upon the earth today and that it was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. All of that relies on a testimony and witness that the Book of Mormon is true.

One thing I learned during my personal study this week is in Alma chapter 26. Here Ammon the missionary is talking to his brothers Aaron, Omner, and Himni. He asks a great question to them in verse 16. He said "Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord?" The answer is: no one can. There isn't a limit, or a maximum level to which we can praise Him. So why not do it as much as we can?

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
