Monday, May 28, 2018 - Frisbee Golfing (Frolfing?)

This past week was awesome! First off, Elder Blount and I are staying together! This will be fun. Sadly, the people who were supposed to be at church yesterday and then be baptized this Saturday didn't come. It was sad, but we still had a baptism!!

Sebastian asked me to baptize him, so that was a special experience. His baptism went super well, and a LOT of people came to support him! Someone from the primary welcomed him to the ward and gave him a piggy bank from Deseret Book that had the phrase "I hope they call me on a mission." It was super cool!! And then 3 people came up to him afterwards and now he has $22 for his mission and he's 9!! It was a special moment for him.

Also, we went golfing today, with discs. It was pretty dang fun. We went with an investigator family and had a ton of fun.

Fun fact; the mission has gone up 20% in baptisms these past 6 months. That's a ton!! We had the most baptisms in one week this last week. 30. It was crazy.

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing! I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much! The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy. Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though!
