Monday, July 16, 2018 - Good Week

This week was a pretty good week! My new companion is Elder Martinez. He was born in D.F. Mexico and moved to the Bay area in California when he was 5 years old. He has been out on his mission for 20 months, so he goes home soon as well. We are super excited to work together!

Anyways, we contacted a referral last week and they had just recently (3 months ago) moved here from D.F. They were super excited to come to church, but something came up and they told us they will come next week. They want to keep meeting with us though so there is a lot of potential there.

I just wanna share a quick testimony with everyone. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's church on the earth today. That it was restored by Him through His servant Joseph Smith and that we have all the principles and ordinances necessary to make it back with our Father in Heaven. He is waiting for us, and wants us to make the right choices. When we fall short, I am sure it hurts Him, but that's why He sent His Son. To save us. To help us. And to show us the way back to Him.

Have an amazing week everyone!

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
