Hello Friends and Family!!
This week went by super fast!! I just want to let y'all know, both Elder Trincado and I are staying here. There are only two sisters from the district that are leaving, so not very many changes. Also, we have had a 3rd power outage in just this past month alone. Only one of them was scheduled, the other two were random.
Well. There is so much to talk about! First and foremost, we went to the mutual activity in the Kamas branch, mostly because one of our investigators decided he wanted to go, also because they were doing a Fear Factor activity. The first level they had to eat cow tongue, which is actually pretty good. The second level they had to eat about a 16th of a habanero pepper, most everyone was hurting after that little guy. The third level they had to eat a raw egg. The next level after that they had to eat half of a habanero pepper, and at that point everyone was dying from the heat, mostly because they thought water would help them. The fifth level was the best one, they had to eat a live cricket. The final round they had to get as many tiny rubber bands in a cylinder filled with crickets in 30 seconds. The person with the fastest time wins. Videos below!
We went on exchanges with our zone leaders on Friday which was pretty fun. They are pretty cool. I went with an Elder Taylor, hailing from Spokane, Washington. We basically just went around knocking on doors the whole day. It was pretty boring, but we were able to 1) get to know each other more, and 2) contact at least a few people. We also had a lesson with a part-member family which was good. We read a chapter out of the Book of Mormon Stories with them.
We went fishing today!! It was so much fun!! This was Elder Trincado's first time fishing ever!! He didn't catch anything sadly, though it still seemed like he had some fun. We first went fishing in Rockport Reservoir which is about 10-15 minutes north of Kamas. We weren't getting a single bite there though, plus, it was pretty shallow. So we went up to Echo Reservoir, about 10 minutes north of Coalville, to go try our luck there. It was pretty cold, about 25-30 degrees, and it was windy and cloudy. It was still pretty fun. I was able to catch the 2 fish out of the three of us there (we went with our Stake High Councilor over the missionary work). They were both rainbow trout, the first one was 9 inches and the second one was 13 inches.
On Saturday we had a superb lesson with one of our new investigators who's name is Eduardo, but everyone calls him Eddie. He is SUPER solid! When he turned 18 two weeks ago, he decided he wanted to meet with the missionaries. So one of his friends got in contact with us and we had our first lesson two Saturdays ago. I thought it went pretty well, so we set up another appointment for this past Saturday. During the lesson, the Spirit told me to extend the baptismal invitation, so I did. To our surprise, he said yes!! He then told us that he had been praying about it and felt like it is what he should do!! Elder Trincado and I were so excited! So now we will be having one baptism this coming Saturday, and then his baptism on the following Saturday, November the 11th. Can't wait!!
Love y'all!!
