Monday, January 1, 2018 - Feliz Año Nuevo!!

Happy New Years everyone!! I hope we all made some very nice new, and realistic, goals for 2018.

We found a super amazing person on Sunday evening!! Her name is Azure. She is an awesome person and loves having us over. We shared the video "Why We Need a Savior" and she loved it! We had another lesson with her on Saturday which turned out really well. We taught her the Restoration, and she told us that she talks with a lot of coworkers at work, who are also members, about the church.

We had exchanges with our zone leaders on Thursday which went really well. Except he doesn't speak Spanish so it was all up to me!! I was definitely okay with it though. We were able to contact a lot of people, and even find some one new to teach!! We also went to a YSA Christmas/New Year's Party that evening. The Elder I went with is Elder Narine from Guyana. it is in South America, and no he doesn't speak Spanish, his first language is English.

Yesterday we taught  a combined lesson for the youth in Hoytsville 1st ward about how they can be missionaries by using technology. We even invited them right then and there to share a favorite video, or scripture, or quote, etc. with someone they know using social media. A lot of them did it!! We even got a referral from one of the youth of her friend. It was really awesome.

Hope everyone have an amazing week!! Love y'all and Happy New Years!!

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
