Monday, June 18, 2018 - Plunger anyone?

Well, this week was pretty good! We went on exchanges twice, so I went with Elder Stapp, the DL from Alaska, once and then the other time with Elder Solis. Well, on the first exchanges, Elder Stapp clogged the toilet with toilet paper. We didn't have a plunger! Well, we did, but it had a hole in it so it didn't work as a plunger, and we tried covering the hole with tape, which didn't work, and then with a garbage bag, which also didn't work. So we started knocking doors for a plunger, by this time there was already water on the floor from the attempts to unclog it, and we asked some other Elders who also live in the apartment complex but they didn't have one. They knew a member who had one though, so we used theirs and finally got it unclogged! But it was a good day because we received a super solid referral earlier right after dinner. Apparently a member started talking to her on the trax and she expressed interest in coming to church! She just barely came from Venezuela by herself about 3 months ago and lives with some of her friends from there. And she came to church!! We had stake conference and she really enjoyed it! We are going to start teaching her this week. Anyways, that's about it! Love y'all!

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
