Monday, November 6, 2017 - Fishers of Men!!!! .... and fish

This week was amazing!!

First off, we went fishing today, and Elder Trincado caught his first fish, ever!! It was awesome. He was about 16-17 inches and didn't put up a fight at all until the last 5 feet. It was really weird.

So, on Tuesday, we met this amazing family that lives in Henefer!! Their names are Sam and Hope, and they are a younger married couple without kids yet. She is a member, and seems like she is pretty active, and he is not a member, though most of the members think he is one. He told us that they have been going to church for the past several weeks and that he has even been reading the Book of Mormon here and there!! We went to Henefer 2nd ward, which is the ward they attend, and he was in a white shirt and slacks!! No wonder everyone thinks he is a member. The only problem I think right now is that he owns and operates his own coffee factory. Other than that, he is super solid, and we are going to have a lesson with them this coming Tuesday.

Now, on Wednesday, we met ANOTHER amazing family!! This one is a Hispanic family that lives in Kamas. The Flores family is from Guerrero, Mexico and have been in the States for only a little over a year. They have a daughter who is in 10th grade, a son in 8th and 5th, and then another daughter who is over 1 year old. They love coming to church and we left them with a few Book of Mormons and we asked them to read the introduction. The only problem is that the husband works a ton. In the summer he works putting up lights, and in the winter he shovels snow. It is hard work, but he said that with what little time he has he will read the Book of Mormon. Speaking of another Hispanic family, we were talking with them and were about to leave. The wife was making something, and she said it was a hot drink for the cold. When we got outside, we realized that it was TEA!!! My companion and I just froze. We had no idea what to do. So we just went to the nearest church and threw it away lol.

On Saturday, we had an amazing baptism. Her whole family came!! It was an amazing blessing to see them there. I wish I could send y'all pictures but the person who was supposed to have sent them to us, never got them to us, so it might be next week till you see them. But it was a special event. Her grandfather, mother, sister, and I sang a beautiful song that the grandfather composed. It is called May I Be Found Worthy. The baptism in general was a special thing to be apart of. Perfect birthday present.

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
