This week was super amazing!

First off, I wanna say that I haven't given a blessing for about a week now. It is weird not giving one ever other day, but a nice little break nonetheless.

On Monday we played volleyball and soccer which was pretty fun. There is a new elder from Brazil who can play soccer pretty well. Elder Solis and I were on the same volleyball team which was super awesome because we make a pretty good team. Let's just say I didn't do any spiking or blocking for the whole day lol. The new sister missionaries a pretty cool too.

On Friday we had our first district meeting as the new district. It was fun!! The assistants were on splits with our zone leaders, so we had one of the AP's and one of the ZL's there. Both Elder Gonzalez and I gave the training. We talked on Chapter 9 in the Preach My Gospel, under the part of "Developing the Faith to Find". It was pretty good. At least, that is what the assistant and zone leader said to us.
On Sunday Sisters Oteo and Ramos, and Elder Gonzalez and I all gave talks during sacrament meeting. We had to give it on the same subject that we gave it on last time which is basically talking about missionary work, and how members can get involved. I gave my talk on the story of Ammon and the lamanites, but more importantly I focused on how Abish (one of the servants of King Lamoni, and a member of the church) was such a powerful tool in helping a corrupt nation turn into people of God. Abish was converted when she was young once her father shared an amazing dream that he had. Ever since then, she has been an active member of the church among the lamanites, who we know at this particular time were the idolatrous ones. Once the King, and everyone in his courtroom, including Ammon, were under the very powerful influence of the Spirit till they fell, Abish took that as an opportunity. She ran from house to house testifying of the miracle she witnessed. Because of her, she helped this fallen people become disciples of Christ. And if you guys remember correctly, the people she helped convert are the ancestors of the 2,000 stripling warriors of Helaman!

Today, just before writing this letter, we saw the eclipse!! Sister Hillier bought glasses for the whole mission to see and be able to witness it!! It was super fun, I have pictures of the sun too so just wait! Everyone from the valley came to the activity, so about 100 missionaries. We had board games, volleyball, soccer, football, and rugby going on all at the same time. It was from 1030 until 130! We saw the most complete eclipse we could get at about 1133, and it was about 90% of it, which was still pretty dang good.
SO, during football on a kickoff, the returner ran it all the way to the end zone, kind of. We were using metal chairs to show where you need to go to make a touchdown, and he kind of ran into one of them, dislocating his finger. I heard him pop it back in as he was walking over to the mission doctor, and it sounded SUPER painful!! So, the “storal of the mory" is this; if you are playing football and using chairs for the touchdown, don't run into them please.

Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
