We had zone conference this week which was pretty good. One of the things that stood out to me was something President Packer said a while back. He said that "the Preach my Gospel was designed beyond the veil, and put together here." I thought that was very interesting cause I never saw it that way. I never thought that they made it up there, and then brought it down here to be used, through revelation. That was really fascinating to me. They also showed an amazing video called "How I met the missionaries." It was about converts just sharing a quick one sentence on how they met the missionaries, whether it be at the store, tracting, on the street, Taco Bell, and many other ways. It was very cool.
That was on Wednesday, and our zone was going to zone conference on Thursday, so you might be asking, "Why didn't you go with your zone, Elder Wilkes?" Well. That is because Elder Gonzalez got his wisdom teeth taken out! The reason he didn't get them out before his mission was because the doctors told him that they wouldn't need to get taken out until afterwards. They were wrong lol. His two teeth on his right side were "super ready to come out" as the doctor here put it. The left ones weren't as ready, but they pulled all four of them out anyways. It was weird, once he woke up after the surgery he told me he remembered everything. He even told me he was awake and felt the tug of each tooth, though it didn't hurt cause he was on pain killers. So I asked the doctor if they gave him the anesthetic to knock him out, and he said they did. Once I told him he thinks he was awake, he told me "Oh yeah that might be true, just because he is a bigger guy it might not have been enough. Although if we gave him any more we would have overdosed him and he would have needed to be taken to the hospital." I didn't tell him that till after he looked like he was off the drugs. It is very weird though because he still remembers everything from the surgery.

On Saturday we had our Pioneer Day activity! It was super good. We pulled a couple of handcarts around the church (there were other people, nonmembers, playing Pokemon Go there so we asked them politely to leave), some fun games for the kids and the adults, had hamburgers and hotdogs, and then Dutch oven cooked pineapple upside down cake to go finish it off. One of the games we did was a stick pulling competition. The person in charge had me start it off, which I wasn't to happy about, cause he voluntold me to do it, so of course I had to. Well, I wasn't pulled, and eventually they just stopped coming to try so they moved on and had the youth do it lol. It was pretty fun though.

L___ (our recent convert) wore the tie that I gave him when he was baptized to church on Sunday! It was awesome. I wasn't expecting it, and he came in a little later with his aunt wearing my tie!! It was super awesome! That was a good end to a great week.

James 1:17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

You guys have to read this. It is hilarious! And awesome.

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
