Book of Mormon held high!

Happy companions -Solis and Wilkes

This week was awesome! We received a car!! We got a Toyota Corola which helps a lot. We love it, and already named it Milagro (Miracle). It feels so good to be in a car again. The day we received it was the day that we found a golden investigator.

She is from Sonora Mexico and met missionaries when she was a child, but never had lessons. When she moved to California, she met missionaries again, but still didn't take any lessons. When she moved to Utah, she obviously found more missionaries and decided to take that as a sign from God that just maybe she should talk with them. But there were two problems. Her boyfriend was completely unsupportive, to the point that he wouldn't speak to her for the rest of the day when she went to church. Also, that the missionaries were being really pushy for baptism. So the missionaries dropped her. When she let us in, she had a lot of questions that were never answered. Every time we were able to answer her questions, her face got brighter and brighter. We asked her to tell her boyfriend that she would like to meet with missionaries again. When we came back 2 days later, she said that her boyfriend is okay with her taking lessons!! It was a true blessing.

On Saturday we had a Ward Easter Egg Hunt for the primary kids. There was about 40-50 kids there, and we had over 3,000 eggs for them to find!!! It was insane! The grass was almost like a minefield there were so many eggs on the ground. We also had a good Easter, and went to Temple Square with an awesome family, the Thane's.

Well, I love you all, and I thank you for your support!!

John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
