Hello everyone!

So...transfers. We didn't know who was leaving until last night! But, our assumptions were correct, because Élder Solis is leaving :( We had such a great time together, but now we both think he is heading up to Wyoming. We shall see.

This week was great! We had our Mother's Day party for the ward on Saturday! It was a ton of fun. They had pozole (a Mexican soup with corn and chicken), a play, and even a live mariachi! Needless to say the theme was Mexico. The only downside was that they didn't have any desert :( But it was fun nonetheless! Oh yeah, the best part was they had a piñata for all the moms to hit and destroy, and guess who got to raise and lower it. That's right, I did! Don't worry though, I went easy on them. It was super heavy though! 50 pounds, because it was filled with salt water taffy!

Well, I just want to leave you guys with my testimony. I know for a fact that this is the true Gospel. I have had it revealed so many times to me on my mission, and even more at home. I know that Jesus Christ lives, and loves every single one of us personally. I know that we have a Father in Heaven who loves us and wants only the best for us. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because I have asked if it is to my Heavenly Father multiple times, and received the same answer; that it is true. I also know that if we strive to follow His commandments, we will be able to live with our families in the highest degree of heaven.

I love you all! Hold Fast.

Doctrine and Covenants 82:10 - I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise.

Élder Wilkes

From Aubry - The week following Mother's Day, I took a short trip to Utah to visit my mother. She lives about 15 minutes away from where Elder Wilkes is currently serving. I did not tell Elder Wilkes I was coming as I didn't want to distract him. I found his mission office and took a picture, which I was going to share with him at a later time. The second night I was there, my mother and I were out of the house, I received a picture text showing Elder Wilkes and his companion in my mom's house with her husband!! I was so surprised. They were in the area to have an interview and had time to quickly stop by. I am glad I wasn't at the house when he stopped by, and I guess from now on I should just tell him I'm when I'm coming, as he said if he had known I was in town, he wouldn't have stopped. Good Elder!!

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
