From Aubry:

I never thought I'd say this, but I love receiving text messages from people I don't know.

Like this one:

Hi sister Wilkes, My name is Mariel Gourley. We had the pleasure to know your son here in his mission we love Elder Wilkes! Yesterday was his last day in our branch ☹️he was transferred to an area not far from here.
We had a great night for family home evening he was in charge and we love it! He is so good and happy boy😀He asked me to send you this pictures, sorry they are not very good! Maybe we'll see him again on Saturday if he has permission to come back for a baptism. Thank you for raising such a great missionary! He went to Murray 2nd,
I know he is ready for new experiences I know he will be fine😀You have a great son!

It's even better when they are accompanied by pictures!

I think Elder Wilkes misses his dogs at home.

We also received this one a few weeks ago ... it came later in the day on an email Monday during which no pictures were sent from Elder Wilkes. So this made a momma's heart so happy!

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
