Hello everyone!!

This week was super genial (awesome)!!! We didn't get any new investigators, but that is okay because we have so many investigators we are teaching. As you all know, the four Peruvian girls were set for February 18th as their baptism. They are still going strong and wanting to take this path. Although, I am a little nervous as to what their parents would think as they are Catholic. We shall see.

But, we have had two other investigators who were also progressing. The only problem with them is that they are Pentecostal and want to start their own congregation when they move out of their uncle's place (their uncle is an active member). Their names are J and N. They have been coming to church for the past few weeks and now have enough attendance to be baptized. The father is super awesome and golden, but the mother is the one that needed a lot of work. Apparently, in an interview, our Branch President asked them to be baptized and she said "No, we are already baptized."

We had a lesson with them last night and it felt like we were going to war with all the preparations we made. Like I am talking Book of Mormon times as far as the preparations. Let me tell you what we did. We planned on showing them a movie of the Church. It was going to the Joseph Smith; The Prophet of the Restoration. But, we decided it would be better if we watched the shorter, and older The Restoration video which is 20 minutes long. We also decided to go on splits, Elder Juarez with our District Leader in the lesson because our DL was a hardcore Pentecostal as well. We thought that would be perfect. Then, we brought a member, Hno Troconis who baptized a lot of Pentecostals on his mission. So I mean, this lesson was a do or die lesson. They were either going to accept the baptismal invitation, or they weren't going to be investigators anymore.

Elder Martinez (DL's companion) and I were going around and visiting investigators, sharing a quick message, and setting up appointments for the following week. We didn't have very many investigators where we were which was at the foot of the mountain, so we went up the mountain afterwards and took pictures of the valley at night. When we went to go pick up the other Elders after the lesson, they said that N was the first one to want to be baptized!! And she did it through TEARS!! Oh man I wish I could have been there. They said that the Spirit was incredibly strong.

This work is awesome. There isn't anything like bringing people unto Christ.

Alma 26:30 - And we have suffered all manner of afflictions, and all this, that perhaps we might be the means of saving some soul; and we supposed that our joy would be full if perhaps we could be the means of saving some.

This week has gone pretty awesome! Taught my first actual lesson with a golden investigator, who we hope to baptize in 2 weeks! (He is in the plaid shirt in the photo) I also had my first baptism yesterday! It was amazing!  I am taking it easy, well trying to, we walk to the chapel to do splits and everytime I feel like I trip and hurt my ankle a little more, but I can feel it getting better. However, I am not taking ibuprofen...está bien! It doesn't hurt that much!  The church is in a circular form. We live about 5 minutes North East of the church, down a street called Juy Juy.  Honestly, I think Tuxtla is larger than Tucson! It is huge! And we are surrounded by mountains, if you think Tucson is surrounded, think again! I legit feel like we are in a bowl! It is green everywere! And even though we are finishing up mango season, we are still eating mangos everyday! It is really weird slurping a super juicy mango out of a hole! This is how we eat mangoes: ...

P-Day is Thursday this week because we are going to the temple that day, so P-Day was moved. Wow! This week was insane!! This will probably be my biggest email ever. As you all already know, we had transfers and we knew I was leaving but didn't know where. Monday night we found out I will be going to the Murray 2nd Ward! And my new companion will be Élder Solis! He was born and raised in Miami Florida, but his parents are from Guatemala. His first language is Spanish, and he just finished his training before I came so he has about 3 and a half months in the mission. He is awesome, loves swimming and volleyball, plus he is also a professional dancer. There are also sisters in the ward now as well because the area is huge. What stinks is that they are on bikes and we are in a car because of my ankle. I would love to drive them places if I could, but I can't. They are awesome though! Their names are Hermana Oteo who is from San Diego, but her parents are from Mexico. She ...
